Stanley Tools
Back in 1843, Frederick T. Stanley created Stanley works, a bolt and door manufacturing company, right here in our home state of Connecticut. In 1853 Frederick's cousin, Henry Stanley, founded Stanley Rule and Level Company. In 1920, the Stanley Works and Stanley Rule and Level Company combined to become a division of Stanley known as Stanley Hand Tools. Over the years, Stanley Hand Tools has continues to be an innovator in the hand tools industry, manufacturing such legendary tools as the PowerLock® tape rule, Surform® shaper, and Bailey® Plane. They continue to be at the forefront of the industry, producing 400 new tools from 1998 to 2001 and became a two time recipient of the Golden Hammer award for new product innovation. Today, their new line of FatMaxTM tools sets industry standards worldwide.
