The Ridgid Tool Company has been around ever since the advancement of indoor plumbing, and realized the need for pipe wrenches and other plumbing tools. In 1923, Ridgid decided to make things easier by coming out with their first heavy duty pipe wrench. From the beginning, they established themselves as a company with a no-nonsense attitude towards reliability and quality. Today, they have millions of tools in use daily in the plumbing and contracting field. Ridgid continues to develop new tools and better designs of older ones including tubing and pipe cutters, cutter wheels, flaring tools, threading tools and chain vises. One such improvement was the addition of an aluminum line of pipe wrenches. These tools are lighter in weight but still provide all of the functionality of their cast iron predecessors. Some would say that Ridgid products are more expensive than other brands, however, others would say that the price is worth the quality.
