Magnetic Drill Presses
While the fundamentals of drilling are similar across the board, there are special drills for certain jobs. An electromagnetic drill press is a stationary style drill which is usually mounted to the work piece. There are two portions to the machine: a magnetic portion which has to be turned on and attaches itself to the metal (magnetic service); and a drill press portion for drilling. An electromagnetic drill press has many advantages over handheld drills; including less effort needed to apply the drill to the material, a clamp to make the drilling action more secure, and a fixed drill position so the same holes can be bored over and over again.
