Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very usefull I am an electrician and I add lots of recessed cans and lights. This tool is a lifesaver. It's fast and it keeps the mess contained. Every electrician should have one of these. The only problem is after about 80ish holes, the blades are dull, the spring is worn, and the arms are bent. You can straighten them out, but every time you hit a stud or screw, it justs bends easier than the time before. That's the only problem I have with it, but for the time saving and lack of mess, it's worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A great idea. Weak on substance. Bought for recessed lighting in sheetrock. Looks nice. Unsatisfactory experience. Fair for 1/2". Poor for 5/8". Will not use it for anything but scoring surface paper in future. Dust immediately jams feed assy. Quick connect arbor too weak for stress of use... bit snaps at indentation. Full arbor bit prone to walking in guide hole creating distorted ovalled cut Not worth the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of the available hole cutters This is the best adjustable hole cutter I have used, much better than one sold by a well known electrical tool company. It requires NO TOOLS for adjustment, no set screws or tiny allen wrenches to mess with, just brilliant. It captures nearly all of the dust from overhead drilling and it works so smoothly. The dust shield does not spin so you aren't going to scuff the ceiling. Great design there. I cut six holes in 5/8" drywall from 3.5" to 5.5", all were cleanly cut with ease using my M12 3/8" drill. My only complaints were that the painted on hole size numbers get hard to see when they are covered in drywall dust, and storage is a little difficult just because of the shape of the shield. Nothing that would stop me from recommending this tool. The blades that do the cutting actually have an edge to them and aren't dull like a butter knife. I can't speak to how long they will stay sharp, but they did well in my first usage. All in all, a keeper, nice job Milwaukee. Nice job Milwaukee.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bent the arms worked great on the small 2" led can lights but when cutting 5/8 drywall fully extended I bent the adjusting arms now its useless. I have many Milwaukee tools and never had one fail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor cutting We were cutting in new 6" light in 1/2 with plaster and broke the tips off after 2 holes. after looking at it the tips were not cutting in normal drilling rotation they were backwards on tool and cost to replace them its half the cost of tool so disappointed in tool though it would speed up cutting holes costed me more downtime them worth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for remodelers cans I recently purchased this tool for installing 4 recessed lights in drywall ceilings on several remodel projects with excellent results. The drywall dust was completely contained in the shroud. Requires a steady even pressure on the tool while cutting. Good stops for changing the cutting diameter for different size cans.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute junk Tried to cut a hole in a Armstrong Plank ceiling tile. 1 st one the drill bit broke after barely contacting the ceiling. Exchanged for a new one, successfully cut 1 hole. On the second hole the blades came loose, scoring the ceiling to the point the planks had to be replaced. Cost me more time and money to fix. I'm usually happy with Milwaukee products, but after seeing this garbage I think I'll look elsewhere. I'd give it less than 1 star if it were possible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cuts in counterclockwise direction. While cutting through 1/2in sheetrock, it would tare the edges and cut slowly. It has a clockwise bit, so, I am turning in that direction. Later I notice that the blades don't look right as though they were on backwards. So I cut a hole going in the counterclockwise direction and it cut right through. I attempted to change the blades around and the screw head busted right off. Now the tool is useless to me.
