Rated 5 out of 5 by from Despite the other reviews... I'm happy to say that, despite the other reviews, this is a great product. I just bought mine recently, and have not encountered any of the issues that others have complained about. The blade is locked in tight, the blade flips out easily with just one hand, and the button is easy to press. The product feels lighter than some others, but feels like it hasn't sacrificed any durability. The blade holder is locked in when the blade is shut, which I personally like, and does not swing open on its own. It almost seems like Milwaukee learned from the consumer base, and made the necessary improvements. All in all I would say that this is an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design!! I like the ability to store extra blades inside of the knife. I cut lots of drywall and this has been my go to cutting knife for drywall boards, and being able to swap out the blade in a few seconds is a huge plus on the job. Comfortable in the hands and well designed!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wouldnt buy this product again until redesigned LOVE Milwaukee and the fastback but the new model blade storage drops out of it's seated position when blade is open under it's own weight 1/8 of an inch creating a cheap or broken feeling while the blade is in use. Love everything about it but it's so loose it makes me forget everything else that I like about it. Bought 2 of them both do it right out of the package all previous models never had this issue for me

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't fix what isn't broken The old version was stronger, tougher and meaner. What's with this pansy version? Plastic... doesn't flip out one-handed with ease, missing the cutter and is just plain wimpy. One is a tool & the other is a toy. Please tell me you have a replacement belt clip for the old version because that's my only issue with the trusty old one... it fell off so I bought this new one to replace it. Please bring back the old one! This plastic fastback feels like it's on a fast track to the trash receptacle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lefty Well I dont really know if Milwaukee will see this but if your a lefty tag in, im an electrician and we use ultility knives frequently but one thing is to open the knife i have to use my middlefinger, no problem but button is pretty hard to push down, Come on Milwaukee give us a lefty knife, Leftys matter too you know.;)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Blade holder is loose. I love the new design and look which is mainly why I got this. I carry my fastback when I go to work every day and use it often sharpenIng carpentry pencils, cutting boxes open, and other random construction stuff. The clip redesign is way better and they included a blade button release guard as well as moved the release button on the other side of the blade. Now the bad. The first thing I noticed was the blade holder is loose and Isnn't holding it's self closed. It makes the knife feel cheap and broken. Also you can't open the blade holder of the blade is closed. I like to keep the blade closed and replace the used blades I've collected with new ones. The second thing I didn't like is this new knife doesn't have a 45° stop like my old one. My 48-22-1903 fastback can lock open at 45° for more forceful cutting, and the blade holder is stays closed! I thought about returning the knife but I didn't want to go through the hassle so now I'm just going to forget about it and throw it in the toolbox for emergency knife uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool I use this every day, I would give it 5 stars if the blade holder was more sturdy when the knife is open
