Rated 5 out of 5 by from Started out VERY VERY BAD! The Bad: The whole ordeal with this nailer started out bad. Picked the tool up from the store and was excited for my first big trim job. Nail jammed on almost every 5th nail, virtual unusable. On top of that the nailer would also randomly fire blanks. The Good: Took the tool back and exchanged it for the exact same model. New unit worked amazing and way better than I had ever expected. Only downfall I have is that the nailer registers as empty with 4 nails in the chamber. Which to me is still better than firing one wonky last nail that I would get out of my air or firing blanks without knowing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love that it’s cordless I have the whole range of Bos**** pneumatic finish nailers and staplers and yes the Milwaukee is heavy in comparison. That being said, I took 2” nails and sunk them just below flush on some scrap molding into a 2x4. To make things interesting, I stacked 3 pieces of 3/4” red oak scrap just test the limits. Had to adjust the depth, but boy did it sink the nails. Some heads did bend over, but there might have been a knot. Then just for giggles, I put it in bump mode and went to town in the oak. Worked like a champ. Used a brand new CP3.0 battery which helps with the weight. Not sure why anyone needs bump mode for a finish nailer, but it defaults back to single fire mode when power cycled. FYI- I’m not a contract, just an avid DIY guy who’s father happened to be an industrial arts teacher. Milwaukee is always my go to tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Awesome M18 Fuel 18 Gauge Nailer The best cordless nail gun ever!! It never misses a beat or sinking a nail. It’s consistent, meaning once the depth adjustment is set for the type of wood the nail will be shooting into, I never experience a proud nail. I’m a trim carpenter specializing in window framing and casing. The current new home I’m working in has 50 windows , That’s approximately 50-100 nails per window. I never experience a proud nail…never. It lays nails down as fast as I pull the trigger. While my compadres are messing with power and cords, I’m 100% mobile. This is an awesome nailer! Along with the M12 23 Gauge Pin Nailer I’m super productive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forget the first version I just got this new version of the 18 gauge nail gun. I had the first version, and I went back to a gas gun (and the constant reliability/maintenance problems they have) then they were both stolen. Now I just got the new version, it's great! They appear to have addressed the issues with the version 1 gun. First the foot/line of sight, they put the safety mechanism behind the driver and put great effort into giving a clearly indicated line of sight of where the nail will be driven. It's very easy to engage against your trim piece. It comes with not just one style non-mar rubber foot but three (the other 2 store on the gun). I prefer the U-shaped foot, it makes shooting trim like beaded casing simple, nail placement is precise. The power of the driver is greatly improved. I've long contended all the electric guns suffered a ballistic problem, their drivers were heavy because they had such low velocity, you felt like you had to stand on them to drive a long nail and make it set because they tend to kickback. The gas guns on the other hand were light, but had a much higher velocity and no kickback. The New Milwaukee gun seems to have that higher velocity and faster cycle time. I shot 2" nails all afternoon yesterday without any problems completely setting the nails and never felt the need to lean on it to back it up from recoiling! It seems to "pop" the nails in, instead of sluggishly driving them. Add improved ergonomics, like the belt hook on the back, angling the battery so it can get into tighter spaces, and the offer of effectively reliable maintenance free operation, not having to buy gas and this gun is a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect! This nailer is convenience at its finest! It has the power and speed to do the job. I am a trim carpenter and usually prefer the neumatic guns to set my doors but this nailer can easily take its place. Still too heavy to nail trim(Baseboards and such) at a production rate, however. Also, I wish there were options to buy the no Mar tips by themselves because once you lose them, they're gone. I lost the smaller precision one and that is actually my favorite and the nailer is not the same without it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big disappointment. Ready to return I do finish work for a living. I decided to go cordless beginning of this year. Started with Porter Cable 18ga and fell in love with having no hose or compressor. I finally splurged and went too of the line with Milwaukee M18 Fuel 18ga. I WAS so excited. Charged the batteries, inserted some nails, and let’s do this!!! First nail…beautiful. 2nd mail… misfire. Blank. 3rd shot… beautiful. 4th shot…jam, grinding noise. I read the manual, even watched a few videos and got the problem handled. 5th shot… nail head sticking out of wood ½”. (Grab hammer and countersink and go old school). 6th shot… jam. It’s now back in the bag awaiting return unless support can help out. I’ll update this review once this is figured out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great when it works I’ve been mostly happy with this gun - I purchased it mostly for trim work, firing 2” 18ga brads. I’ve found that it consistently jams towards to end of a strip of nails - so much so that when I had to buy a box that were in half-length strips, it doubled the failure rate. Losing a couple of pins per strip isn’t the worst, but it is frustrating. The reason I’m here is that at the end of my most recent strip of nails, it jammed as expected, but having removed the battery and opened the reach at the top to remove the final few nails, the magazine will not slide open. I can’t find any help on this, so am hoping a company rep can contact me. In all, this is still a huge time saver and battery life is excellent. I would still recommend.
