Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend this chainsaw! I’m a woodworker and home owner in a rural area. I have a lot of Milwaukee tools both corded and m18 battery. I have never had a Milwaukee tool let me down in any way. I also own a Stihl 036, and a Husqvarna 350. I bought the M2727 as soon as I could after its introduction. Its the only saw I grab now. Ive cut down and sawn into firewood trees as big as 14 inches, and it’s the almost equivalent in power to my gas saws. But the greatly reduced noise, no fumes, no mixing of fuel, sitting it down and just picking it up and pressing the trigger and going, trust me you’ll love this saw!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tool Ever I got this thing back at Christmas, it came with two 12 amp hr batteries at a very good price. I didn't need it till recently I had a customer have two 100' tall trees fall on her dock an Oak and a Cottonwood. This chain saw made every cut with ease. I really liked that it was low noise and that when you let off trigger it was no longer running. We cut all day and used one a one half battery. We only had to get out the stihl for cutting the trunk which was over 20" Wish they made a bigger one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little saw. I used the saw to cut some poplar logs 18-20 inches across. The battery dies after about a half hour of cutting. I would say that for anyone looking to cut firewood with this saw you need at least 2, HD 12 battery's probably 3 because of the insanely long charging time. Do not use the xc battery's they will overheat instantly and you'll end up ruining your battery's . For people just looking for a saw to use on occasion this is the best thing since sliced bread; you don't have to mix gas, or worry about it going bad, and there's no risk of flooding it. Overall I would say that it's an amazing saw. I just wish the battery's lasted a bit longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amazing chainsaw! I work for a non-profit. Part of my responsibilities are doing lot maintenance, landscaping, and site improvements. I originally purchased this saw for work around my yard, but now will take to work with me. This is better than any gas chainsaw I have had. It is balanced well. I have a 12 amp battery which was only half drained of power after an hour of slicing logs. The logs were up 12” in diameter. I love the variable speed of the saw too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed I bought the pole saw first and was completely blown away. The battery life has been great with just about everybattery Ive put in it. This saw, reguardless of battery, has been a waste. I got the kit with the M18 xc12 battery and even the back up xc8 battery I spend all my time waiting for batteries. I wont get solid 30 minutes of cutting on a full xc 12 battery. Going thru hurricane Laura has just proven how horrible this saw is and the lack of run time it has.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer!! Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL 16 inch chainsaw is a powerful cordless chainsaw that performs as well, if not better, than gas powered chainsaws. The chainsaw can deliver up to 150 cuts per charge. The brushless motor maintains speed under heavy loads without bogging down. The chainsaw reaches full throttle in under 1 second. The chainsaw comes with a 16” Oregon bar and chain. The trigger is variable speed so that you can easily control the speed of the chainsaw. The scrench is stored on the saw for easy access when you need to get into the saw or tighten the chain. Maximum cut diameter is 16”. The chain saw weighs 10.7 lbs and coupled with a 12.0 High Output battery you are looking at about 14 lbs. I have run gas powered chain saws for many many years of my life and I was also a wild land firefighter for several years, working as a sawyer. I was very hesitant to go cordless with a chainsaw. My 16” gas powered chainsaw recently broke down and the cost of getting it fixed didn’t make sense so I took the opportunity to try using Milwaukee’s M18 chainsaw. All my power tools are Milwaukee so it only made sense for me to go Milwaukee since I own several batteries. The first thing I noticed as soon as I put my 12.0 battery on the chainsaw was that it was heavier than my gas powered chainsaw. I’m used to running heavier chainsaw so the weight was not that much of a factor for me. The chainsaw is well balanced and the handles and location of the trigger are good for running the chainsaw. The tank that hoIds the bar oil allows for you to be able to see how much oil is in the tank which is great to make sure you aren’t running on no oil. In terms of performance, I was surprised how fast the chainsaw gets to max RPMs. The chainsaw is considerably quiet compared to gas chainsaws and there is no need for ear plugs while running the saw. No need to deal with gas fumes anymore. I used the chainsaw for two projects. I recently decided to cut down some pine trees on my property and used the chainsaw to drop the pines which were 60’ tall. It took me a total of about 2 hours to drop the tree and limb it up and buck up the trunk and I used five 12.0 High Out batteries to do all the work. The biggest thing I wanted to test was how the chainsaw would perform on bucking up rounds off the trunk, and to my satisfaction the chainsaw did really well and did not stall and I never felt like the chainsaw was inadequate for the work. The second project, I removed several red bottle brush that I had on my property and the chainsaw took them all down very easily. I made a big pile out of all the branches and used the chainsaw to chop it all up and I did notice that the chainsaw accumulated a lot of branches and leaves inside the housing as I was chopping up the pile. It was a bit annoying and it would accumulate so much that you have to remove the cover to get it all out. The accumulation didn’t effect the performance of the chainsaw so it isn’t that much of an issue. I only threw my chain once for both projects which is pretty good. Overall I would recommend this cordless chainsaw. Performs very well and no need to deal with fumes or lots of noise as you are working. Being able to hear better is a huge safety benefit if you are running the chainsaw with people around you. Worth every penny!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw for the occasional firewood cutter! I work with a utility company. This saw is frequently used for topping poles and cleaning up damage from storms or otherwise. I recently used one around the house to cut up a tree that my gas saw struggled with( been problematic since purchase). The chainsaw made short work of the tree, the only downside that I have found is that under continuous use the battery entered into a thermal lockdown mode, if Milwaukee could find a way to counteract that this saw would be perfect. Overall I would say this saw is a great fit for the person that occasionally needs to cut firewood, not for the guy who cuts year round, all the time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bar is to flexible I have several trees on my property. I have been removing some and trimming others. I bought the Milwaukee so that I could standardize on one set of batteries and chargers. The motor has plenty of power. The first time it threw the chain I thought that maybe I had let it get loose. Reinstalled and it threw the chain again a short time later. I have since had to reinstall the chain 9 or 10 times. The bar is very thin and allows you to flex it to easily. I have an 80v Kobalt that has been trouble free. I just dulled the chain on it from use. I have never thrown the chain.
