The Milwaukee 2623-20 M18 3-1/4" Planer delivers unmatched depth control & powerful stock removal for quick and precise material removal on soft or hard woods. The Planer's powerful motor allows the user to remove up to 5/64" in a single pass for increased productivity. Rated 5 out of 5 by from another awesome tool I bought this about a month ago. Never had a hand version before. Best part is I do have a lot of M18 batteries, so I could buy the tool only and save the money from the extra batteries and charger I don't need. It would be nice to have the case, but I have so many tools already, do I need another case? The tool seems slightly heavy at first, but after using it for a while, I forgot about the weight. Nice easy depth of cut adjustment and it goes pretty deep if you want it to. Blade replacement is fairly simple too. When working in the shop it's nice to have the option for dust collection hose too as it can get messy real fast without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool This planer is my go-to tool for planing such things as door edges and for dressing sawn edges, particularly those that have been cut with a circular saw. It is compact and powerful enough for most work. My only disappointment is that the chip ejection chute, while adjustable either right or left, does not take a standard vac attachment. 1 ¼" is too small and 1 ½" is too big (1 ⅜" would fit but is not available). I had to canabalize a tapered crevice tool to slice out and adequate adaptor for a 1 ¼" fitting. As with all my Milwaukee M18 tools, I love the interchangeability of the batteries.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible. Misalignment issues I am on my second planer. 1st one was returned due to the front and rear bed being out of wind. 2nd one appears to be a bit better but is planing out of square on the right side. The depth adjustment on both is not accurate either. Set it on 0 and you are still taking 1mm off. Very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage, base misalignment issues. I purchased my planer as part of a large kit and of all my stuff this is the absolute worst tool. I do high end carpentry and so I use my tools frequently but not as heavily as general domestic carpenters. I have returned 3 planes and had them replaced under warranty with the same issues. My current fourth one I haven't touched other than to check the base for alignment and find that it too is misaligned from the factory. The one critical 'feature' that all planers need is a solid and well aligned front and rear shoe and this is exactly what these planers lack. Features like the left and right chip ejection and the rear stand which can be retracted would be nice but are rendered useless if the planer doesn't work. Planer number 1; used it for less than a week before the front shoe became horribly misaligned and unuseable. Planer number 2; checked the base out of the box and found it was out of alignment. Attempted to make a pass and found cut out of square and snipe occuring badly. Also cut depth not matching the scale on the depth adjustment knob by 2 mm. Planer number 3; checked the base on opening the box, found it to be misaligned (in a different way to the last one). Back in the box without using and returned. Planer number 4; checked it out of the box and found it was misaligned and also the rear shoe was warped! Meaning it can't even really be calibrated. I'll return this one too but for now it's just sitting in a box. I am sick of driving back to the tool shop to be handed another dud and disgusted that these have not been recalled. I have used several brands of planer over the years and they have all worked better than this. I have only had to calibrate them after quite extensive trade use. Tradesmen... or anyone should expect better, especially with the price we pay for these tools

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where I come from, zero means zero... Took nice 1/32" gouges out of my workpiece immediately out of the box and set to zero. Maybe my expectations were off on this one. I want to be able to take shallow passes on a flat surface and not have a bunch of inconsistent ridges in my workpiece. Maybe this tool is only meant for using on pieces narrower than the 3 1/4" blades.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the worst Depth isn't very accurate, probably not ideal for finish carpentry. Works pretty well for planning doors which is primarily what I use it for. Would be great if a Milwaukee rep could suggest the most compatible blades as I can't find Milwaukee branded blades anywhere. I've tried inserting Makita blades but I'm pretty sure they tore out the width of the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Planer I've had this planer a few years now and can't find any problems with it. It's solidly built, has very fine adjustments and can throw the chips out either side. I've tried the blue brand and the yellow and I have to say this is much better than both of them. Milwaukee can be proud of this perfectly designed, superbly built, heavy duty tool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn’t Meet My M18 Expectations The tool is powerful, but I agree with others posting here that there seems to be depth cut issues. Zero still takes a cut from flat wood work. I almost exclusively buy Milwaukee and have entrenched myself in the 18v ecosphere. This tool was a disappointment and I wish I had spent my money elsewhere.
