Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm glad someone finally made this! I use this product primarily for cutting 3/8" threaded rod, copper tubing and small iron pipe. It's good when vibrations would be harmful and a full-size portaband can't fit. It's great for threaded rod to make a quick hanger. I recently used it to remove hot water baseboard heat from a job and it made fast work of it. The 1 5/8" capacity allows me to cut tubular brass and 1 1/2" DWV drain lines quickly and easily. I'm happy with it overall. Being a battery powered saw, you don't have to baby it, but you aren't going to get the high torque you would from a regular band saw. It works well for its intended use. You get many, many cuts from the 12V battery.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not at all what i was expecting.. Tool gets used for cutting steel pipe, copper and strut. Had used the first gen for years but had to be replaced recently and picked up this one, without reading reviews(WHAT A MISTAKE). Power pales in comparison to previous gen, its super slow and cannot take any pressure. Time is of the essence in service work and I cannot afford to wait for this tool to take its time and double the cut duration of the previous gen. Like most of the other reviews state, the dead man switch used on this gen of band saw is a complete nightmare and very awkward to use. Overall very disappointed with this tool and it appears a trip to the returns counter is in order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST TOOL I HAVE EVER OWNED!! I am an electrician in the residential field and when I am installing conduit I am constantly making cuts... I started out with the usual hacksaw and my shoulder was always sore so I started using the Klein EMT pipe cutter. The shoulder stopped hurting but then my wrist and hands were sore so when I seen a demo of this bad boy I HAD TO HAVE IT!! I mounted a double hook on my ladder for stability and convienence and the blade opening fits perfect around the back ladder leg. If your in any trade that your using a hacksaw or pipe cutter and tired of the cutting aspect of work I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BAND SAW it rips right through 1/2 onduit and have been using the same blade for about two months now and could not be happier with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from JIW Foreman LU 153 Practical in size for what I do can cut conduit and wire up to 1 1/2 and strut. Couple of sugguestion I would like to see though. First would be to move the battery so it balances the motor in the hand.Seccond if you moved the gaurd and opposite jaw to a 45 degree angle it could be used to roll and cut up to a 3 or 4 inch conduit or pipe. Right now I can cut a 2 inch like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect tool for an unusual application in a salt mine I was tasked with cutting the excess length of the "tails" of roof bolts (dywidags) in a salt mine to increase clearance to equipment. The bolts are 1" diameter and are a harder steel than rebar. I had to crawl into a tight, restricted space in order to reach the bolts that I needed to trim. I needed a very compact saw, and a quick search of the Milwaukee tools that are available revealed this little gem. I only needed to apply light pressure, use a little lubricant on the blade, and so far, I've cut 10 bolt tails, with 2 left to go, on a single blade and on a single charge. I needed to make a makeshift extension to reach one of the bolts, extending the tool out by 3 feet. It's light weight made it easy to handle, and again, it made very quick work of cutting the bolt tail. This tool made this difficult task much easier than I would have imagined. 5 stars plus in my opinion! I need to get one of these for my home workshop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for residential electricians... I am a professional residential electrician of 20 years and a huge part of my job is cutting 1/2" EMT conduit much of the time. To say the least, this bandsaw has made my life a whole lot easier. Initially I was skeptical about the versatility, power, run-time and general quickness of the cuts, but a skeptic I am no longer. First off, the 12v XC battery is awesome. I can go all day long on a single charge. It takes about 3-4 seconds to cut through 1/2" emt conduit. Plenty fast. Best of all I can kiss that shoulder and elbow pain I get from my regular hand-hacksaw goodbye. Yes you can cut a bit faster with a band new blade on a regular hacksaw. But, after about a day, the blade dulls, slowing down the time it takes you to cut and is harder to cut in general. Plus throughout the day you simply aren't cutting as fast by hand due to the fatigue from doing it manually. If I absolutely had to complain about one thing about this saw it would be that it's just a tad bit heavy at being a smudge under 7 lbs. The only thing I can't comment on is blade life since I've only used it about a month now. Overall I think this product is a perfect for professional electricians. Thank you Milwaukee Tools!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for electricians Makes short work of the most common sizes of conduit, makes far better cuts than a sawzall with less effort and a more compact package

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I won't be buying another. I am an industrial electrician and this tool is great for small stuff like 1/2in-1in emts or cutting 4/0 wire. But anything more than that and it sucks. Cant cut deep strut. I've burned up the motor in not one but 3 of them in a row. Definitely won't be getting another and I love all my other Milwaukee tools. Either you guys need to release a fuel version or one with a better motor on it. I'll stick to my m18 compact bandsaw from now on.
