Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would not buy this headlamp again As an electrician, I need additional light when working in attics or basements. This light only gave really bright light when a new set of batteries was installed, but after a half or hour or so would dim down to where the light wasn't sufficient. When I clicked it down to the second brightest setting, it would actually be slightly brighter than the brightest setting. The batteries would then be drained to the point where I would have to replace them. That got kind of expensive but my biggest gripe is that the last time I used the headlamp it fell off of the hinge and I couldn't wear it after that. It became a mini flashlight. I need another headlamp but it won't be a Milwaukee one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Auto dim feature is infuriating I bought this headlamp on the reputation of Milwaukee and the headlamp’s simple design. I, like many of the other reviewers, am very frustrated that the light will automatically cycle to dimmer settings after a few seconds. I don’t know if this is a malfunction or a design feature, but it makes the headlamp useless to me. I had high hopes that this would be a rugged headlamp, unlike many of the lightweight backpacking brand lamps, which tend to break easily. I would like to know why the light automatically dims, even with fresh batteries.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Hinge Construction My wife and I bought 2 of these headlamps and both of them broke at the hinge. When we received the replacement from warranty center, both of them broke as well. My wife used both of hers for running and I used mine for as an extra light in my truck. The bad part is I worked for a company that sold Milwaukee Tools and I sold a lot of these same lamps to good customers. Something should be changed with this model, I won't buy this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Light Cycles The light cycles down to lower intensity by itself. When I click the selector it always goes back to full intensity but within a minute its cycles back down again. I have tried two different brands of new batteries with same results. The headlamp has only been used about 10 hours so it is fairly new. A headlamp has exactly one job and this one doesn't like to play nice. This headlamp would be a 5 if they fixed the light cycling problem. I suspect that the headlamp dims on purpose.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hinge and on/off switch malfunction Bought this product without reviewing due to the Milwaukee reputation. Would've been a one except for the customer service was great when I called. Tilted the headlamp down and hinge broke. The on/off switch also malfunctions since the day I bought it. Sometimes i have to press the switch 5-6 times to get it to react. Couldn't return in store because its only online now. Contacted customer service and they were great. Repair center was more than 40 miles away so they are sending me a new one. Will upgrade my review if the new one lives up to the Milwaukee reputation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only works with new batteries I am a huge Milwaukee fan and I never leave reviews but I feel like I need to validate what all the other reviews are saying. It is true, you can only get full brightness when there is a new set of batteries installed. I have to change the batteries every two days in order to maintain the brightest light. The light will dim down and I often question if it is even on. Terrible light and I expect so much more from Milwaukee for the money. Hopefully they can fix this issue in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this light again. The batteries that came were awfully cheap, even for the name brand. Otherwise the lamp worked great after installing new batteries. I have dropped the headlamp about 15 feet and it still works. The head strap has worked great. Once the batteries are running low, the headlamp automatically dims the brightness down; to save energy?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product This headlamp continues to dim automatically from hight, to medium and then low within 7-seconds everytime I use it, which is infrequent as I am a DIY homeowner. It failed me miserably trying to run CAT6 line in a finished ceiling and basement yesterday. It’s by far the worst Milwaukee product I’ve ever purchased and is out performed by other brands for a fraction of the cost.
