Leave behind the hassle of a gas-powered hedge trimmer for a cordless, battery powered solution. Get the same power of gas to tackle any trimming application with the benefits of zero emissions, lower noise, and considerably less maintenance on your tool. This hedge trimmer is powered by one 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery for power and run time within the strongly-preferred 18V LXT battery platform. This model is a kit and includes two fast-charging 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries and an efficient 18V Rapid Optimum Charger. The XHU08T Hedge Trimmer has a 30" blade for increased cutting capacity and a 5-position rotating handle for increased comfort when trimming vertically or at an angle. A Makita-built brushless motor delivers 4,400 SPM for faster cutting speed when set on the high speed option. This cordless hedge trimmer has zero emissions and reduced maintenance: there's no engine oil to change, no spark plug to replace, and no air filter or muffler to clean. And there's no need to drain the fuel for storage. Simply pickup your tool, load an 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery, and the trimmer is ready to use.
The Makita XHU08T 18V LXT Cordless 30" Hedge Trimmer features Makita XPT Extreme Protection Technology for your hedge trimmer. Engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions, a protective seal is added inside the tool to repel water and dust away from key internal components. It is also IPX4-rated for weather resistant construction and durability so you can work in any conditions. The 18V Lithium-Ion system is the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V batteries have the fastest charge time in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
Speed and Capacity
The Makita-built Brushless Motor delivers up to 4,400 SPM for the fastest cutting with three speed options of low, medium, and high for optimum power management. The 30" dual action double-sided shear blade provides increased cutting capacity.
Control and Comfort
The XHU08T features a 5-position rotating rear handle for increased comfort during vertical and angle trimming. There is a reverse function for clearing jams and variable speed trigger for increased operator control.
LXT Lithium-Ion Battery Platform
The Makita LXT Lithium-Ion battery delivers constant power and longer run time, even in extreme temperatures. The charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip to optimize battery life, controlling current, voltage, and temperature. A built-in fan circulates air through the battery during the charging process to cool the battery for faster charge time.
