Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bit I received this 1/4" Blue Granite Turbo bit as a sample to test. I tested it using my Bosch cordless Brushless HDS 182 Compact Tough Hammer Drill/Driver, as that is the only hammer drill I have with a Chuck and not designed for SDS Plus or SDS Max bits. I typically prefer the SDS type bits as I find they typically drill faster than the standard bits I have used. In the construction business, time is money and if your bits slow you down, they are costing you money. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of the bit in the cordless hammer drill. I found that the bit was as aggressive as any of the SDS products I have used in the larger drills. I compared the 1/4" bit to some 3/16 bits I had and found that the time it took to drill a hole through the same material was essentially the same even though the bit was removing quite a bit more material. I noticed that the bit had three nubs on the drill end of the bit. Bosch calls this the Power Grip Shank. Ith shank allowed a solid grip in the chuck of the drill that resulted in no slippage what so ever. This is a great advantage with the keyless chucks that are so prevalent on today's drills. It is a feature that could be used on standard drill bits also. Over all, I was very pleased with the performance of the bit and would highly recommend the bit for general use whether you are a Diy'er or professional. I found that the bit will perform up to any needs I would have if it and definitely go beyond the expectations of a standard shank masonry bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good life I had a shower door to install in hard porcelain. I needed to drill several holes for the wall mounts. I have drilled this tile before and it required a diamond hole saw type bit to get through. I decided to give this bit a try instead. I started with the 1/4" and drilled two holes. It was very slow going. I kept a water spray bottle close to keep the bit cool. For the next 4 holes I used a Bosch BlueGranite 5/32" bit as a pilot hole and then switched to the 1/4" bit. This worked much faster. I still used water to keep the bit cool. I drilled a total of 6 holes before the 1/4" tip broke. The last holes I drilled with my diamond hole saw, which also gave out. I think this was an extreme test for these bits and they did excellent. The 5/32" bit is still in good shape to use for tapcons. If they would add these BlueGranite features to their sds bit line, I would definitely add them to my arsenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster holes=less wear I tested the 1/4" BlueGranite Turbo up against a competitor's 'professional series' 1/4" masonry bit. I used a Hitachi hammer drill, and marked each bit at the 2" depth. I decided to time the drilling of three holes and use the average.. First CMU (cinder block) Bosch-5.8s Other Brand- 8.1s Then Red Brick Bosch-9.0s Other Brand-9.6s Finally Well Cured Concrete Bosch-9.1s Other Brand-10.2s It's clear that the Blue Granite bit was faster, but what was impressive, the tip of the bit was still sharp feeling, while the 'other brand' was starting to get rounded off. ---Tried to add photos, but they wouldn't upload...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've used A couple things that I notices after getting the bit. The wings will help hold it in the chuck with no spinning. And the shape of the tip. Really helped start a hole. I did a small test between three bits . I needed to drill 32 1/4" holes through 3/8 tile and into concrete. To install Tapcon's. This Blue Granite turbo drilled close to 2 times faster then others. And left a cleaner hole. At the end of the day the bit still looks brand new. I will be getting more of these bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good It's done everything I've asked it to in the past 2 weeks which have been crazy but plenty of drilling. Still seems as effective and sharp as when I first got it. I'm glad that I've bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bit I've ever used. This bit drilled faster and cleaner than any other concrete bit I've ever used. I also found that it did an excellent job clearing the dust out of the hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Brand I'll buy There were several things that I noticed about this bit that I liked. 1. Wings on the shaft The bit didn't spin out like other bits 2. Longer life vs Competitors 3. Tip shape (stayed put, did not bounce) I don't use Concrete bits on a regular basis; however when I do I want something to be user friendly bit that is forgiving. Bosch bit are just that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Lasting, Fast Drilling These bits are the best I've used for concrete. A few things that I really liked, the diamond tipped bit means that it stays put really well for starting a hole, the bit didn't jump around and stayed exactly where I put it, even when starting holes on smooth surfaces. I really found that these got holes started really well - I even tried it out on porcelain tile where I used it to get a hole started that I then finished off with a small diamond hole saw. I had a hard time getting the hole saw to stay put, but starting a hole with this really gave the hole saw something to grip into. These bits drill concrete like butter, I was sinking holes I would say 30-40% faster then I did with my previous masonry bits. Overall I've now drilled about 40 1/4" holes with this bit and it is as good as new, I did use water to keep things cool while I was cutting which I usually do to help extend the life of my bits.
