For fans of Milwaukee tools, the future just got brighter.
On June 30, the company was granted a patent on its revolutionary lithium-ion battery technology for cordless power
tools. What does this mean to you? Well, Steven Richman, president of Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation says it best:
“This patent, along with other patents already issued to Milwaukee in the lithium-ion field provide broad, valuable rights to Milwaukee in the use of lithium-ion batteries in power tools.”
Right now, Milwaukee power tools use a unique form of battery pack for its cordless tools that harnesses the power of lithium ions to produce 20 amps or more, and according to a press release regarding the patent, other projects are also in the works. Some of these upcoming products include a 28 volt battery pack, a multi-voltage lithium-ion battery charger, and a multi-chemistry charger.
Simply put: Milwaukee tools will continue to produce cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries for its power tools and will work harder in the future to innovate the industry further with more chargers, batteries, and power tools that take advantage of more efficient, convenient energy.
